Embassy's building

The former Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Niels Helveg Petersen, and Estonian Prime Minister, Mr. Mart Siimann officially inaugurated the embassy in January 1999.

Located at Wismari 5 with a view of Hirvepark (Deer Park), the Estonian Parliament, and the iconic Pikk Hermann (Tall Hermann) Tower, the embassy remains a symbol of the close relationship and friendship with Estonia.

The architects behind the Danish Embassy in Tallinn are Bøje Lundgaard and Lene Tranberg. The vision behind the architectural design was not only to create an administrative center but to build a cultural link between Denmark and Estonia by expressing openness and hospitality.

Externally, the building is covered in cedarwood and Estonian limestone, not only providing the embassy with an aesthetically beautiful appearance, but also integrating it with the surrounding nature. Materials and the architectural form are inspired by classic Estonian building traditions combined with modern Danish architecture.

Near the embassy, you will find the Danish King's Garden and the Danish Queen's Rose Garden, commemorating our shared culture and history.
