During the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development on 20-22 June 2012 in Brazil the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) and Let’s Do It World organize their special events.
On 20-22 June 2012 the United Nations organize the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, also known as Rio 2012 or Rio+20, hosted by Brazil in Rio de Janeiro, as a 20-year follow-up to the historic 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) that was held in the same city.

During this important conference the Global Green Growth Forum, public-private partnership for green growth that was launched in 2011 by the Danish Government together with Governments of Korea and Mexico, will host two major events.

On 21 June at RioCentro there will be a high-level session“Sustainable, Inclusive Growth: The Way Forward from Rio+20 and G20″ with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President Lee, President Calderón, Prime-Minister Thorning-Schmidt and other leading decision-makers and thought-leaders. The event is co-hosted by 3GF and the Global Green Growth Institute.

“Accelerating Green Growth through Public-Private Partnerships” on 18 June at Windsor Barra Hotel is a workshop co-hosted with UN Global Compact. The workshop is opened by Bob Orr presenting the UN Partnership Facility, and Minister Lidegaard introducing 3GF’s ground breaking tool for strategic development of PPPs. This workshop convenes active global Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), to explore the role that PPP’s can play in reducing information, policy or behavioural barriers to the scaling of green growth, and to produce guiding principles for successful PPPs.

During the Rio+20 conference also the Estonian initiative Let’s Do It with its global civil action “World Clean-up 2012” will hold the World Clean-up Rio+20 action on 19 June in Parque Garota de Ipanema to collect the waste in the park. This action is a symbolic effort, to combine the forces of the delegations from the countries all around the world. The event will include welcome notes by Mr Oskar Metsavaht, the founder and director of Brazilian sustainable fashion label Osklen and Mr Rainer Nõlvak, initiator of Let's Do It World.
