Danish-Estonian Society celebrated its 25th anniversary

Danish-Estonian Society’s 25th anniversary was celebrated on 3 September 2015 in Christiansborg in Copenhagen with a conference.

The Danish-Estonian Society was established in autumn 1990 to support and broaden the friendship and cooperation between Denmark and Estonia.

The conference in Fællessalen in Christiansborg on 3 September 2015 gathered nearly 100 people in discussing the history and future of Danish-Estonian relations.

The greeting words were by society's chairman Count Ulrich Holstein-Holsteinborg and Danish Minister for Culture Bertel Haarder, followed by the presentations by Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marina Kaljurand, Count Ulrich Holstein-Holsteinborg and Rikke Helms, the first head of Danish Culture Institute's office in Riga. There was also talks by brigade general Michael H. Clemmesen, Estonian ambassador to Denmark Märt Volmer, Danish ambassador to Estonia Søren Kelstrup and associate professor of Defence Academy Peter Viggo Jakobsen as well as greetings from the head of former Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia Silvi Teesalu and  former head Norwegian-Estonian Society Else-Jannike Kuum.
