The Foreign Minister of Denmark on a visit to Tallinn

The Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen was on a visit to Estonia on 14 September 2017 when he met with the Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser.

Mikser and Samuelsen discussed Estonia-Denmark relations, the Eastern Partnership, the situation in Ukraine as well as the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU and Brexit. Danish minister was also interested in Estonia’s experience in combating fake news and misinformation.

At the meeting the ministers also discussed Danish contribution to NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in Estonia. The 200 Danish soldiers will replace the French battle group at the beginning of 2018. Sven Mikser pointed out that Estonia considers Denmark’s contribution to NATO allied forces present in Estonia to be very important.

From Estonia, Foreign Minister Samuelsen travelled on to Latvia.
