Winners of the essay and photography competition "Estonia AND the Nordic countries – Estonia AS a Nordic country?" announced

During the conference "Estonia AND the Nordic countries—Estonia AS a Nordic country?" on 23 August 2016 the prizes for essay contest and photography contest under same title were handed out. The patron of the contests was President of the Republic Toomas Hendrik Ilves.

The main prize of the essay contest in adults' category was participation at the Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony in Oslo and the second prize participation at the talk of the winner of Nobel literature prize in Stockholm. The prizes were won by Emma Juslin and Mikko Lagerspetz respectively. All winners of the three fisrts prizes in all categories were congratulated by the Minister of Education and Science Jürgen Ligi.

The main prize of the essay contest in students' category went to Jasmiin Üpraus. The prize was a bicycle, handed out by the Embassy of Denmark.

The conference and the essay and photography contest were organized by UT Centre for Ethics in cooperation with Nordic Council of Ministers, Embassy of Norway, Embassy of Sweden, Embassy of Denmark, Embassy of Finland, Ministry of Education and Research, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
