On Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Mektory in Tallinn the national prizes and special prizes were handed out to the winners and their supervisors of the competition for young inventors. Danish Embassy also handed over its special prize

The competition aims to develop young people's creativity and innovative thinking, to guide students to recognize problems around them and to seek solutions to those. The works are evaluated in three age groups: imaginative ideas are expected from pupils in the 1st-4th grades, ideas with technical solutions from students of the 5th-9th grades, and ideas from the 10th-12th grade students should be possible to realise in practice.

The Danish Embassy’s special prize was handed out by Ambassador Kristina Miskowiak Beckvard to Otto Seppel for his "Clever Windshield".

More info about young inventors’ competition and this year’s winners (in Estonian) can be found at the website of Estonian Research Council, view also gallery of the event from Estonian Research Council’s Facebook page.

Estonian Research Council carries out activities which help to generate interest in young people in science, technology, mathematics and engineering. National competitions for school students have been organized since 2008. Each year the most exciting ideas are collected into a poster exhibition, which travels into schools around the year.
