Danish Colour Guard at the Estonian Independence Day parade

The Colour Guard from the Royal Life Guards participated in the military parade in Tallinn on 24 February 2017 when Estonia celebrated the Independence Day, 99th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.

The flag team of 7 soldiers from the Royal Life Guards (Den Konglige Livgarde) received President Kersti Kaljulaid’s greetings standing next to the Colour Guards from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. From friends and allies of Estonian military were participating in the parade also a platoon-sized unit of US soldiers currently stationed in Estonia and a platoon-sized unit of UK.
The parade was led by Chief of the Estonian Defence Forces Gen. Riho Terras.

Denmark is going to deploy 200 soldiers to Estonia in a year in the frames of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic States and Poland. The UK led troops will include 800 UK soldiers, supported by military personnel from France and Denmark.
