Innovative educational games and apps enable students to gain knowledge about the oceans

19.04.2016  17:25
The Danish-Icelandic company Lifriki introduced at the Danish Embassy in Tallinn on 13 April 2016 innovative educational games and apps that enable schools and teachers to develop children’s skills and knowledge about the oceans.

The technology behind these educational games makes it possible to follow the migrating humpback whales on a real-time basis and explore the ocean alongside the whales. Under Lifriki Education Donation Proramme schoolchildren all around the globe will get these games and apps for free.

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) is a partner of the Lifriki Foundation, as they through the collected data from a whale-tagging system can improve their prediction about climate change. The Lifriki Foundation is responsible for the administration and distribution of the data.

Companies are welcome to contribute in developing the programme and making it available to schoolchildren in Estonia. Closer info ‒ Magnús Jónatansson, mj@lifriki.com, tel: +354 824 5000.

More info about the programme can be found from the website lifriki.com.
